Katha Zinn (BM,MM) taught violin in New York City for sixteen years before relocating to her hometown of Rochester, NY. A graduate of the Juilliard School and Mannes the New School for Music, Katha is an active violinist with a performing career. Her students have played in venues such as Carnegie Hall and Alice Tully Hall. She has taught masterclasses and performed concerts around the world with her husband and duo partner, Illya Filshtinskiy. Together they maintain a steady performance career, running a concert series (Bach and Brew), thriving YouTube channel, and several albums. Illya Filshtinskiy (BM, MM, PSD) taught piano in New York City for eighteen years before relocating to Rochester, NY. A graduate of the Juilliard School, the Manhattan School of Music, and Mannes the New School for Music, Illya has an active career not only as a teacher but as a performer. His students have played in venues such as Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall, and the NV Factory. He has also taught masterclasses and performed concerts in several different countries, including Holland, Germany, Ukraine, Mexico, Japan, Hong Kong and Taiwan. Furthermore, Illya is a composer, and has written several method books for his students in addition to his output of solo and chamber works.
